Adoption timeline
- January 2017: Central government agencies take the lead in e-invoicing. They become obligated to send, receive, and process electronic invoices
- April 18, 2019: E-invoicing expands across the public sector. All PAs and contracting authorities must be able to receive e-invoices. Additionally, suppliers are required to issue e-invoices for government transactions

Government institutions also use a PEPPOL connected platform called DIGIPOORT for the reception of electronic invoices
