Adoption timeline
- July 2021, Kenya introduced a new electronic invoicing system called TIMS
- November 2022, all businesses must issue e-invoices using the TIMS system
- March 2024 (end of grace period), mandatory e-invoice onboarding via TIMS for non-VAT registered businesses
